Arcana Network Is Joining Hands With Nubit To Scale The Multichain Ecosystem

We've got some exciting news to share. We have just partnered with Nubit, a Bitcoin-native data availability layer. This collaboration will bring chain abstraction to the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Nubit is a scalable and secure data availability layer for the multi-chain ecosystem. Nubit draws its security from Bitcoin, ensuring that the data layer maintains the robust protection that Bitcoin is known for. It supports various applications, such as Ordinals, Layer 2 solutions, price oracles, etc. 

The recent surge in demand for Bitcoin inscriptions has led to over 14GB of data being stored on the blockchain, incurring significantly high costs. This development underscores a critical need within the Bitcoin ecosystem: In a more expansive Bitcoin ecosystem, the inherent data throughput limitations of Bitcoin itself could pose a bottleneck. Addressing this need, Nubit, the first Bitcoin-native data availability layer, is guided by the principle of trust minimization.

Founded by UCSB professor Yu Feng, Nubit leverages Bitcoin’s economic security to create a highly secure and scalable data availability layer. Nubit recently went live with their Alpha Testnet and has garnered a vibrant community of supporters. It has over 400K Twitter followers and 360K+ members on its Discord. They recently closed a funding round of $12 million, led by Polychain and joined by Symbolic Capital, Nomad Capital, OKX Ventures, and many more.

Nubit Overview

The two core Nubit innovations are the Consensus Mechanism and Data Availability.

Nubit aims to fully inherit Bitcoin's security, including economic security, temper resistance, and censorship resistance. It achieves this through the implementation of Bitcoin’s native staking and Bitcoin anchoring methods. Further, Nubit explores an efficient CometBFT-based consensus powered by SNARK for signature aggregation, named NubitBFT, bringing an unprecedented decentralized validator network.

Nubit uses Data Availability Sampling (DAS) to ensure data integrity for light clients. DAS verifies block data presence through random sampling without downloading entire blocks. Repeated successful samples increase confidence in data availability. Validators, full storage nodes, and light nodes play specific roles in maintaining data availability through their protocols.

How Arcana and Nubit Will Collaborate

So, what does this mean? Well, we're combining our expertise in chain abstraction with their Bitcoin-native data availability layer. The goal? To make Bitcoin more functional and more accessible for everyone across different chains. 

Our goal is simple: make Bitcoin more functional and accessible. Arcana Network’s chain abstraction brings seamless cross-chain interactions, and Nubit’s DA provides robust data infrastructure on Bitcoin.  

Arcanas Chain Abstraction will be available to Nubit’s BTC L2 ecosystem of partners to help them seamlessly acquire users without bridging between chains.  

Arcana Auth will also be present on user-facing Nubit products via the Arcana Auth SDK, which offers a seamless login experience. The Arcana Auth SDK ensures top-notch security with the help of our DKG while simplifying user access using various login methods. We allow users to log in via social auth, email, or even an OTP.
